Some 1500 scholarships and prizes, amounting to HK$18 million, are available for outstanding undergraduate students. In addition, HKU has a fund of over HK$4 million for providing financial assistance to those in need, in addition to grants and loans of the Government. Our "Young Leaders of Tomorrow" - Community Leaders Scholarship Scheme is for first-year students who are able to demonstrate leadership potential in community service or extra-curricular activities from their secondary school days. Some 450 first-year students have been awarded such scholarships in the past five years.

Scholarships are also provided each year to the outstanding HKALE students admitted to the University under the JUPAS scheme. Scholarships are also available for top students form the Mainland and from around the world.
