Overview

The department is contributing actively to the teaching of all aspects of anatomy in the system-based PBL-driven curricula to medical and dental students; as well as anatomy to chinese medicine, pharmacy and nursing students. Teaching is by demonstration/practical sessions, utilising protected human material. A modern mortuary provides facilities for the embalming, plastination and storage of cadavers. The Department also organizes Special Studies Modules on Structural and Clinically Oriented Anatomy as well as Cancer Cell Biology for medical students. There are two large teaching laboratories. There is a good museum and facilities for the demonstration of radiological anatomy and the conduct of seminars/tutorials are also available.

The Department’s teaching interests lie principally in the following major areas:

Professional Students: Medical Students, Dental Students, Chinese Medicine Students, Pharmacy Students,
                                   Nursing Students

Postgraduate Students: Master Students in Master of Philosophy and Master of Medical Sciences, Doctor of Philosophy
