Abstract:"HKU Nursing Health Ambassador Program" is an interactive educational seminar introduced to primary school teachers and students on the preventive measures of SARS. Over 117 on-site demonstrations by HKU nursing students and instructors were presented to 6,500 students in 17 primary schools from May 19 to 21, 2003. The teaching staff of Nursing Studies shared with us their experiences.

Title:Student Attitudes towards the Use of ICT during SARS-induced Class Suspension - A Preliminary Report

Abstract:In this article a teacher shares his experiences with other teachers about how a group of students coped with his efforts to brace the March-April 2003 SARS outbreak in Hong Kong and continue to teach his classes and sustain learning. This is done in the hope that, by sharing our experiences, we can find better ways of sustaining learning in the event of a similar outbreak. This article is part of a SARS-related research project that aims to enhance interactivity between teachers and students and among students by researching, among others, student attitudes and preferences for ICT-based learning.

Title:We Care, We Are Concerned

Abstract:This article touches on how three university students showed their care and concern when SARS hit Hong Kong. The article was first written in April this year. The author wrote in part as a form of psychological healing, and in large part because he thought that Hong Kong people need hope and sympathy to help them through difficult times. At the end of the article, Collin included some positive thoughts on this tough time for Hong Kong.
