Conservative Dentistry is the branch of dentistry which is concerned with the conservation of teeth in the mouth. It embraces the practice of operative dentistry and endodontics, and includes various kinds of direct and indirect restorations of individual teeth in the mouth.
The teaching area of Conservative Dentistry is part of the unitary Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Hong Kong. It provides both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the field.  In addition, staff members of the area are active in local and regional professional societies and associations. The discipline also organises continuing education courses either by itself or as a joint effort with local professional societies and/or the Hong Kong Dental Association.

The area of Conservative Dentistry offers postgraduate curricula leading to the following degrees/diplomas:

Master of Dental Surgery (Conservative Dentistry)
Master of Dental Surgery (Endodontics)
Advanced Diploma in Endodontics
