• To receive and confirm the Minutes of the Extraordinary General Meeting held on March 21, 2006.
• To receive reports from the Chairman, the Standing Committee and the sub-committees.
• To discuss questions (if any) from members the notices of which have been received by the Clerk of Convocation not later than June 21, 2006.
• To elect members to the Standing Committee.
• Any business which the Chairman considers urgent and directs to be transacted without notice thereof being given.

Members are cordially invited to attend the OGM.

Members may attend the OGM in person or by proxy . The instrument appointing a proxy must be in writing, signed by the member appointing the proxy and deposited with the Clerk of Convocation before 6:30 pm on Monday, June 26, 2006.

Minutes of Extraordinary General Meeting held on March 21, 2006

An Extraordinary General Meeting of Convocation was held on March 21, 2006 at 6:30 pm in the Convocation Room, Main Building, The University of Hong Kong.

32 members of Convocation were present at the meeting.

• The Meeting CONFIRMED the Minutes of the last Ordinary General Meeting held on June 17, 2005.
• The Meeting CONSIDERED and APPROVED by resolution a set of proposed amendments to the Constitution and Rules of Convocation. The amended Constitution and Rules, as attached, would take effect immediately.
• The meeting was adjourned at 7:17 pm.

Election of Members to Standing Committee of Convocation 2006

In accordance with the Constitution and Rules of Convocation, nominations were invited in the notice of election issued on Convocation website, the Convocation Newsletter and in Ming Pao and South China Morning Post for the election of eight members to the Standing Committee.

By the published closing time: 5:00pm, May 15, 2006, the following nominations have been received:
