Graduate Email Account

All graduates are provided with a Free Email Account which will carry your unique identity,
i.e. @graduate.hku.hk This special Email Account is intended for personal and non-commercial use.

The allocated disk space of each Graduate Email Account is 10MB. You are welcome to forward the emails received at your Graduate Email Account to your other email account(s) as you think appropriate. Forwarded emails will not be kept on the Graduate Email Account server.

Remarks:

Account Name

For instance, if you are a graduate with university number 198612345,
your account name will automatically become: a8612345
The whole Email address becomes a8612345@graduate.hku.hk

*You can change your Account Name, but please note that you can change once only click here

From the Class of 2000 onwards, the account name will begin with a 'h',
e.g.
h0012345 for student with university number 200012345

How it works

You can read and send mail messages through the account by:

1. HKU web mail service (http://webmail.hku.hk).
When prompted, please select the host machine 'graduate.hku.hk' and type in your account name and the associated password as registered.

2. using any mail programme, e.g. Outlook Express, Eudora, Netscape Mail, on a PC by configuring the following settings:

POP account
YourAccountName@graduate.hku.hk
Return address
YourAccountName@graduate.hku.hk

SMTP server

Graduates should use their own ISP's SMTP server if they are connecting to the Internet through a network outside the HKU network.

For those connecting to the Internet through the HKU network, the SMTP server is mail.hku.hk

POP server

graduate.hku.hk
