Position Paper: The HKU Convocation Perspective
A study on long-term development of Hong Kong was conducted in February 2004. A total of 220 responses were received through the web survey expressing views on various topics such as Hong Kong's successful elements and potential threats, positioning, population, social cohesion, urban planning, environmental sustainability and government policies.

Nearly a hundred were present at the forum on February 21 to discuss with panel speakers Mr Lee Jark Pui, Professor Patrick Lau, Professor Wong Siu-Lun, Professor Peter Hills and Mr Man Cheuk-Fai, and moderator Professor K W Chau. A position paper including views collected at the survey and the forum will be submitted to the government in late March.

Representing the essence of the most established tertiary institution in Hong Kong, HKU graduates continue to enjoy a strong presence in virtually every sector of Hong Kong. Your insights are thus valuable in assisting the Government to formulate the most appropriate policies for the place where we received our education, live, work and build our families.
The HKU Convocation has designed an online survey to collect your views on strategic issues and socio-economic factors that could well represent Hong Kong's opportunities and challenges ahead.

We shall consolidate your replies and a "HKU Convocation Perspective"
as a response to the Government's Consultation on the topic of "Hong Kong
into 2030" will be issued.
