  General Information

The International Symposium on Spatial Data Handling (SDH) is the premier research forum for Geographic Information Science. It commenced in 1984, in Zurich, and has been held every two years since. Meetings have been held in Seattle, Sydney, Zurich, Charleston, Edinburgh, Delft and Vancouver. This is the primary event organized by the International Geographical Union's Study Group on Geographic Information Science, the successor of the IGU Commission on Geographic Information Systems. The SDH2000 will be held in Beijing in 10-12 August 2000 as a pre-congress meeting of the International Geographical Congress (IGC) in Seoul in 14-18 August 2000. The symposium is organized by Prof. Shupeng Chen (Chairman) and Prof. Jianbang He (Secretary-General) of the National Laboratory of Resources and Environment Information System (LREIS), Institute of Geography (IOG), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Beijing.

In addition to coming for this important conference, participants will be able to see the latest development of GIS in China and the ancient capital and new face of Beijing.

After 1 July 2000                                      US$250

Registration fee includes a reception on 10 August, proceedings, tea and coffee, and one technical tour (lunch not included)

Cancellations will be accepted by letter, fax or email.
If cancelled before 15 July 2000, US$50 handling charges will be deducted from the refund. After his date, US$150 will be charged.
