Associate Professor
Urban and Regional Development, and Planning Systems in Pacific Asia

Mee-Kam Ng won the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund Fellowship in 1988 to pursue a Ph.D. study in urban planning under the supervision of Professor John Friedmann at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She secured a teaching post in the Centre at the end of 1992, almost the same time as she obtained her Ph.D. degree. She was promoted to Associate Professorship in 1997. Her research interests include economic transition, urban and regional development, planning mechanisms, sustainability and planning for equity issues in Pacific Asia. Her publications received the Certificate of Merit and Silver Medal Awards of Hong Kong Institute of Planners.

Consultancy Experience

Mee-Kam Ng had contributed to a number of local consultancy studies involving knowledge on development and planning mechanisms in China and Pacific Asia.
