HKU-Pasteur Research Centre will participate in the Research Postgraduate Studies Exhibition & Admission Talk 2008. A poster presenting our Centre and its research activities will be displayed.
>> French International School visits HKU-Pasteur Research Centre
- Victor Segalen French International School Scientific workshop, November 19, 2008, HKU-Pasteur Research Centre -
On November 19, students of the "seconde 2A" class visited HKU-Pasteur Research Centre. Dr Roberto Bruzzone, HKU-PRC's CEO, presented the Centre's history, mission, research and teaching activities. He also guided the students during their tour of the laboratory. Ms Isabelle Dutry, MPhil student introduced good laboratory practice in biosafety level 2 facilities and Dr François Kien presented our imaging facility and how to vizualise virus-host interactions. Movie of this visit available here. This visit stimulated students' curiosity with lots of questions about biology, virology and science careers.

>> 1st Pasteur-Asia Immunology Course (MMPH6174)
- Innate immunity and its signaling mechanisms, October 23-November 5, 2008, HKU-Pasteur Researtch Centre -
The Dean, on the behalf of the Board of the Medical Faculty has formally approved that the Pasteur-Asia Immunology (MMPH6174) be included in the coursework curriculum for Research Postgraduate studies effective from the academic year 2008/09.

The 2008 Croucher-Pasteur Exchange Programme
will be held
on 9-10 October 2008. The invited speakers are Dr Maria Carla Saleh ("Virus and RNA Interference" group); Dr Jost Enninga ("Dynamics of Host-Pathogen Interactions" group) and Dr Shahragim Tajbakhsh ("Stem cells and Development" unit) from Institut Pasteur in Paris. HKU-Pasteur Research Centre welcomed Mr Heni Gibson, French student from the French International School for a one-week studentship (January 21-25). He interacted closely with their tutors and the HKU-PRC's staff and discovered various aspects of virology. |
