MDS Nordion Gammacell 3000 Elan II

The MDS Nordion Gammacell 3000 Elan is a self-contained gamma irradiator using Caesium as radiation source. This system is used to inactivate or modulate cellular components of cell cultures, mixed lymphocyte cultures and cellular blood components for research purpose (not for clinical use). The system is easy to operate with step-by-step instructions on display screen that all HKU designated radiation workers/users are eligible to use this system independently, after attending a training session provided by the Department of Pathology.
