Applications are invited for admission in October 2010 to read for the Postgraduate Diploma/Certificate in Molecular and Diagnostic Pathology. The curriculum, which lasts for two years on a part-time basis, consists of 8 weekend sessions.
This programme aims to provide health care professionals with a deeper understanding of the molecular and genetic basis of diseases and the application of molecular technologies in human disease. The programme will be delivered through didactic seminars, tutorials and case studies/practicals, with self-assessment exercises and completion of a project report.
Emphasis will be given to the understanding of molecular and diagnostic pathology, with view to clinical translational application that will equip participants to meet the increasing expectations in health care from patients and the general public. The programme is also the first organized programme of its kind in Hong Kong.

The applicant must hold a degree of MBBS of this University, or a Bachelor’s degree with honors, or another qualification of equivalent standard from this University, or from another University or comparable institution accepted for this purpose.
Applicants are expected to have access to the internet and an adequate command of English.

Participants may wish to undertake individual modules or specific sections within the Diagnostic Pathology Modules as occasional students with award of CME points.

Enrolment as an ‘occasional student’ would satisfy continuing professional development requirements. Any studies undertaken as an occasional student will NOT be recognized for advanced standing, or course exemption on admission, as a regular student to the same curriculum of PDipMDPath or PCMDPath.
