  • Non-genomic effects of gonadal sex hormones in the vascular system: clinical implications and mechanism of actions
  • Vascular and hormonal profiles, as well as the therapeutic potentials, of phytoestrogens
  • Cardiovascular pharmacology of Chinese medicine, in particular the modulatory actions on vascular reactivity
  • Role of lipid and its mediators in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular disorders
  • Platelet-activating factor: its cardiovascular effects and receptor classification

Other Information :

Professor Ricky Y.K. Man has been actively participating in the academic activities at the University of Hong Kong, being the member of the Senate (1995-2003), the Court (1995-2003) and the Council (2002-2003) at this institution. He was the Chairman of the Committee on the Use of Live Animals in Teaching and Research (1996-2001). With regard to his research interests, he was the Founding Member and the Deputy Director (1997-2001) of the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Medicine. He also took up the position as the Deputy Director (Basic Research) of the School of Chinese Medicine at the University of Hong Kong (1998-2002). Currently, he is the Visiting Professor at the Peking University. He was the Visiting Professor at different institutions in Mainland China, including the Sun Yat-Sen University (1996-2000), the Norman Bethune University of Medical Sciences (1998-2000) and the Shantou University Medical College (2001).
