Centre for the Advancement of University Teaching

Please visit our homepage for up to date information about the activities of the Centre: http://www.hku.hk/caut/Homepage/index.htm

The Centre was established in 1993-94 and reflects the importance of teaching at the University of Hong Kong. It has three divisions. The Interactive Media Group (IMG) assists with the development of effective media-based teaching and learning materials. The Information Technology and Teaching Group (IT&TG) is responsible for helping to

develop policy and participates in strategic planning initiatives focused on information technologies. Through The Learning Network (TLN), staff engage in professional development activities, attend workshops, seminars and programmes such as the Learning to Teach programme <http://www.hku.hk/caut/pgscourse/> for teaching assistants. TLN produces a monthly newsletter, Let's Talk, which lists upcoming events, as well as exploring issues in teaching and learning at the University.

The Centre is a source of information, ideas and materials relevant to university teaching and it encourages research in higher education to extend the knowledge of teaching and learning in higher education.
