AFRI2007 African Nobel Laureates in Literature

Second semester (6 credits)

(This course is also offered to second and third year non-BA students for inter-faculty broadening purposes.)

This course introduces you to the literature of Africa by way of its Nobel Prize-winning authors. It is intended that by studying what may be regarded as the very best literature of the continent that you will begin, first, to appreciate the rich cultural history of the continent; second, to appreciate the complex social and political composition of the continent; and, thereby, to develop an informed sensitivity towards the diversity of African thought.

Assessment: 100% coursework.
