Strengthen Your Intimate Relationship Through Effective Communication
Course Code: IREC1/06-07

"You don't understand me!"

" You are not listening to me!"

How often do you hear your boyfriend/girlfriend complain?

Effective communication is the key to a harmonious relationship. Sometimes it is not easy to communicate with the one we love and wonder why we just can't "get it right." In this workshop, you will learn how you can "get your message across" so as to strengthen and improve the relationship between you and your partner.

Outcomes:
At the end of the workshop, you should have

  • Known how to communicate effectively and avoid those ineffective ways of communication

  • Acquired listening skills

  • Learned how to express yourself freely

Are there any pre-conditions?
Pre-screening interview is required

  • As the pre-screening interview is an integral part of the workshop, you must attend it; otherwise, you will not be allowed to take part in the workshop and your deposit will not be returned.

  • If you choose to withdraw from the workshop after attending this interview, you must inform Ms Enid Fung, the Programme Coordinator, about your withdrawal within two working days from the completion of the interview; otherwise, your deposit will not be returned

Improving Peer Relationship

Do you have difficulties in making friends? Are you shy with strangers? Do you find it difficult to join in or maintain conversations with others? Involvement and effective communication skills are vital to friendship building. Join this 3-session group to improve your social skills and peer relationship.

Outcomes:
At the end of the workshop, you should have

  • A better understanding of effective communication skills

Resolving Conflicts
Course Code: RC1/06-07

Everyday disagreement, differences in opinion, different habits, lifestyles and values are the bases for conflicts among family members, roommates, friends and colleagues. These new challenges may offer unique opportunities for greater understanding of each other, more effective communication and new avenues for personal growth. This workshop aims to help you work through conflicts in a responsible way and to feel empowered by the way in which you deal with problems or conflicts.

Role play and group discussion
