University Football Club

Soccer ClubUniversity FC were founder-members of the Yau Yee Football League, Hong Kong's premier amateur football league, when it came into existence 25 years ago. For several years we have been in the top division (of four), but this year were relegated to Division Two. Expect a speedy return to the top echelon!

League (and Cup) matches are played on Sunday mornings, almost always kicking off at 10 am at Sandy Bay. In addition, training sessions, usually involving a friendly match, are held from 8 - 9.30 pm every Tuesday under floodlights at Sandy Bay.

Until 1998 we were known as "University Staff", but with apparent waning of interest in competitive football amongst HKU academics we have concentrated on recruiting players from amongst students leaving the University. Only two current members are HKU staff, but the majority of the rest are ex-St John's College graduates. We would be only too pleased to receive enquiries from staff or students interested in playing in and training for properly organized and administered competitive league football of a good standard.
