Social Sciences Society, HKUSU is the only student-run organisation which represents all the undergraduate students in the Faculty of Social Sciences. 43 years since the establishment in 1968, the Society has been striving to achieve the six objectives as stated in our constitution:
 
a) to promote the general welfare of the members;
b) to promote comradeship and understanding among members;
c) to promote the study of Social Sciences;
d) to foster a sense of consciousness of the local and global communties;
e) to represent the students of the Faculty as a whole and
f) to facilitate mutual understandings between the Faculty and the members of the Society.
 
Social Sciences Society, HKUSU is also one of the largest non-profit making student-run organisation in the University of Hong Kong which has more than 1000 members from the following programmes
 
- BSocSc - Bachelor of Social Sciences
- BSocSc (Govt&Laws) - Bachelor of Social Sciences (Government & Laws)
- BSW - Bachelor of Social Work
- BJ - Bachelor of Journalism
 
 
Apart from that, We also have 5 affiliated academic societies. They are

Our main focuses are to promote the engagement of students towards social issuesunite members and to enhance the friendship and mutual understanding within the Society. We will continue to do our best in benefiting our members in the coming year.
